The Opportunity

To support a top company priority on Risk (billing and coding), I led the creation of a new clinician-facing learning experience for a value-based care enablement organization. The project is anchored by a one-hour credentialed eLearning badge and enhanced with an optional six-video electives section for deeper exploration. Each elective centers on a 15-minute clinical presentation by a medical director, creating significant production demands. While I oversaw design and development of the full experience, a key challenge emerged in producing the electives: the Associate LXD assigned to them was new to Camtasia video editing software, and the SMEs provided one-take webcam recordings and legally locked slide decks. We needed an efficient way to produce a polished, brand-consistent video series within these constraints.

The Solution

To streamline video production, I created a reusable Camtasia template that standardized layout, transitions, and branding across the entire elective series. The template allowed the associate designer to drop in SME footage and slides while reverse-engineering grouped timeline elements to learn editing techniques along the way. This approach ensured a consistent, professional learner experience and served as a hands-on training tool for my teammate.

The first completed video served as a proof of concept, validating the workflow and giving SMEs and stakeholders confidence in the series. This early alignment accelerated sign-off and set a clear path for producing the remaining electives.

The Impact

The template-driven workflow not only elevated the quality of the videos but also empowered the associate designer to work more independently and confidently, accelerating production. Beyond this project, the reusable Camtasia framework can now serve as a repeatable model for future multimedia initiatives, strengthening both team capability and scalability.
